Online Estimate Terms of Service
Version: 24 September 2026
Applicable exclusively to the remote estimate service for the repair or maintenance of stringed musical instruments.
The GuitarService.gr Online Estimate is a standalone remote service through which you can obtain information about the potential cost of repairing or maintaining your stringed musical instrument without first visiting our workshop.
You send us photographs and information about your instrument so that we can review the reported issue and provide an initial cost estimate. Where possible, we may also suggest solutions or provide technical advice.
The Online Estimate does not replace an in-person inspection of the instrument and does not oblige you to proceed with a repair.
1. Description of the service
The Online Estimate covers stringed musical instruments such as electric, acoustic and classical guitars, bass guitars and other stringed instruments serviced by our workshop.
The service includes reviewing the photographs and information you send us in order to:
- Carry out an initial assessment of the instrument’s condition and the issue you describe.
- Estimate the potential cost of repair or maintenance, where this can be determined from the information available.
- Provide technical advice or suggest possible solutions, where feasible.
The service is limited to a remote assessment. It does not include an in-person inspection, repair work, spare parts, or shipping the instrument to our workshop. Completion of the service does not oblige you to commission a repair or oblige the workshop to carry out work without prior agreement.
2. How to submit an Online Estimate request
To use the service, complete the dedicated form on our website. The process includes the following steps:
- Enter the required contact details and information about your musical instrument.
- Describe the issue or the work for which you would like a cost estimate.
- Upload five (5) photographs, following the instructions in the form.
- Review your details and check the total service price and the estimated response time.
- Accept these Terms and confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy.
- Proceed to payment, which is the final step in submitting your request.
Your request is submitted only after payment has been completed successfully. It is then registered and forwarded to our workshop for assessment.
3. Customer photographs and information
The accuracy of the Online Estimate depends on the quality of the photographs and the completeness of the information you provide. Photographs should be clear, in focus and show the issue as accurately as possible. You are responsible for completing the form correctly and for the accuracy of the information you submit.
If you are aware of any additional issues affecting your instrument, please mention them even if they are not visible in the photographs. If the information is insufficient, we may contact you by telephone or email to request clarification, additional photographs or, by mutual arrangement, a video call.
No additional payment is required for further clarification requested by the workshop in connection with the same request. If a remote assessment or cost estimate cannot be provided, we will explain why and advise whether an in-person inspection is necessary. If the agreed service cannot be provided, its fee will be refunded.
4. Accuracy and limitations of the cost estimate
The Online Estimate is based solely on the information you send us and on what we can establish remotely. The repair cost stated in our response is indicative and does not constitute a binding final repair quotation.
During an in-person inspection at the workshop, additional or hidden wear, breaks, electronic faults or other damage may be discovered that was not visible in the photographs or known to the owner. In such cases, the final cost may differ from the initial Online Estimate.
If the cost changes, we will inform you of the issue, the proposed work and the revised cost. No additional work will be carried out without informing you and obtaining your prior approval. A final agreement on the repair is reached after the in-person inspection and your acceptance of the work and its cost.
The initial estimate does not guarantee that every issue has been identified or that all work can be carried out at the initially estimated cost.
5. Technical advice and proposed solutions
Where feasible, the Online Estimate may include advice on addressing an issue without immediately visiting the workshop. Such advice is based on the information available to us and does not guarantee that the issue can be resolved remotely or without professional repair.
If a task requires specialist tools or technical knowledge, or could cause further damage, we recommend that you do not attempt it yourself before the instrument has been inspected in person.
6. Price, payment and tax receipt
The Online Estimate is a paid service. The total price is clearly displayed in the form before you complete your submission. Payment is made electronically through Stripe.
After successful payment and submission, you will receive a confirmation email at the address you provided, including a unique reference number for your Online Estimate. You will also receive a payment confirmation or payment receipt from Stripe.
Once the Online Estimate has been completed, we will send you our response and the legally required tax receipt for the service. We will send the tax receipt on the same day, where feasible. If the service is completed outside our business hours or on a day when the business is closed, the tax receipt will be sent on the next business day.
The tax receipt will be issued within the period required by the applicable tax legislation. The timeframe above concerns sending the receipt to the customer and does not postpone its legally required issuance. A Stripe payment receipt does not replace the tax receipt issued by our business.
7. Completion time and delivery of the response
The estimated completion time is shown in the form before payment and depends on the workshop’s workload. Assessment begins once we have received your request and the necessary information. If we need additional information, more time may be required. We will inform you of any significant delay.
Once the service is complete, you will receive an email explaining the issue affecting your instrument, the potential cost of repair or maintenance and any additional advice. The completion date is the date on which the workshop sends the email containing its final response. The period during which the Online Estimate fee may be credited against a future repair is calculated from that date.
8. Crediting the Online Estimate fee against a future repair
If you decide to have your instrument repaired or maintained at our workshop, the fee you paid for the Online Estimate will be deducted from the final price of the work, provided that all of the following conditions are met:
- The repair or maintenance concerns the same instrument for which the Online Estimate was provided.
- The instrument is brought or sent to our workshop within one (1) calendar month of the Online Estimate completion date.
- You commission the work after being informed of the necessary actions and their final cost.
The deduction is applied once, when the final charge is calculated, and applies only to the same instrument. For example, if the Online Estimate cost €9.99 and the final agreed repair price is €100.00, you pay €90.01 for the repair.
If you do not proceed with a repair, or if one calendar month passes without the instrument being brought or sent to the workshop, the right to this deduction expires. The fee remains payment for the standalone Online Estimate service and is not a repair deposit. This provision does not limit any statutory rights you may have in relation to withdrawal or a failure to provide the service as agreed.
9. Bringing or sending the instrument to the workshop
If you would like to proceed with repair or maintenance, please contact us to arrange delivery of the instrument. You may quote your Online Estimate reference number when contacting us. If you are located far from the workshop, please contact us before sending the instrument.
The Online Estimate does not include transport or shipping costs. After we receive and inspect the instrument in person, we will inform you of the necessary work and its cost so that you can decide whether you would like us to proceed.
10. Retention of photographs and information
The photographs and information you send us are used to assess the instrument and provide the Online Estimate. The photographs are deleted from the website’s server as soon as they have been delivered to the workshop by email. We keep that email, photographs included, for one (1) calendar month after completion, corresponding to the period during which the fee may be credited against a repair, and then for an additional thirty (30) days so that we can refer to the previous estimate if you contact us again. After that it is deleted.
The core details of the request (name, contact details, instrument, description of the issue, reference number and status) are kept as a service history, which you can also see in your account if you have one, until you ask us to delete them. This excludes information that must be retained to meet legal obligations or manage an ongoing dispute. Payment information and tax records are retained for the periods required by law.
More information about how we process, protect and retain personal data is available in our website’s Privacy Policy.
11. Separate instrument service-history file
If the instrument is brought or sent to our workshop and we proceed with repair or maintenance, a separate service-history file is created. This records the necessary customer and instrument details, work performed, technical measurements and adjustments, replacement parts and consumables used, and the relevant dates.
The purpose is to maintain the instrument’s technical history and serve you better during future visits. The service-history file is separate from the original Online Estimate request. Its management and retention are described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Right of withdrawal and refunds
The Online Estimate is a service provided online. As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within fourteen (14) calendar days of entering into it, that is, of the date of payment, without giving a reason, subject to the statutory exceptions.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you may use the Withdraw from the contract function on our website, which the payment confirmation email also links to. Once you confirm your statement, you will receive an email acknowledging its receipt, with the date and time it was received. You may also send a clear statement to info@guitarservice.gr, preferably stating your full name and Online Estimate reference number.
If you withdraw, we will refund the amount you paid, using the same means of payment, without undue delay and no later than fourteen (14) days from the day we receive your statement.
Refunds are made in accordance with applicable law. These Terms do not limit your statutory rights if the service is not provided or is not provided as agreed.
13. Acceptance of the Terms
Before payment, you have the opportunity to read these Terms and our Privacy Policy. To proceed with your request, you must confirm, by selecting the relevant box in the form, that you accept these Terms and that you have been informed about the processing of your personal data.
These Terms apply only to the Online Estimate service, not to any other services or product sales offered by GuitarService.gr.
